Scott Wiener, the progressive California state senator and leading candidate to succeed Nancy Pelosi in Congress, was surrounded, berated, and driven out of San Francisco’s Trans March on Friday by pro-Palestinian protesters who told him he no longer belongs at the event, even after he publicly called Israel’s actions in Gaza a “genocide.”
Video of the confrontation, posted to X on June 27 by a user named Dimitry Yakoushkin, shows Wiener walking through a park as agitators close in, shouting at him and, at one point, sticking a middle finger in his face. Wiener did not engage. He left.
