Sen. Bernie Sanders is renewing his push to cut the standard American workweek from 40 hours to 32, and critics warn the mandate would raise costs and destroy the jobs it claims to protect.
Club for Growth President David McIntosh went on Fox Business’s “Varney & Co.” to challenge the Vermont independent’s proposal head-on, arguing that Sanders’ plan would backfire on the very workers it targets. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins piled on during a separate appearance on Fox Nation’s “The Sunday Briefing,” framing the shorter workweek as a rejection of the work ethic that built the country.
