Democrats’ wave of victories on Nov. 3 has left Republicans with significantly diminished political power and an internal debate over the future of the party.
“This is [as] close to an extinction-level event for Republicans in many parts of the country as we have seen probably in the last 100 years,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said during a Nov. 4 press conference. He added that Republicans faced a long road ahead for rebuilding the party.
