President Donald Trump claimed on Sunday that the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is “almost completely fixed, including the various inflow and outflow pipes.” He also said other vandalism to areas of the National Mall by vandalism is being repaired. The statement was made on Truth Social, which included an aerial photo of grass at the National Mall where discoloration spelled out “86 47,” which is often associated as being a threat to Trump.
“Look what VANDALS did to the grass connecting the vandalized World War II Monument and the vandalized Reflecting Pool, which will be opened again, and better than ever, shortly. Anybody who thinks the Reflecting Pool wasn’t vandalized should go back to Law School!” Trump said in the post.
Trump said the repairs to the pipes were going to wait until the end of the year, but they will be done immediately.
