Study Links Decline in Physical Activity to Higher Cancer Risk
A study published in BMC Medicine has found that reducing vigorous exercise by a few minutes a day as people age is associated with a 15% increased risk of cancer, according to researchers from University College London. The analysis examined 59,218 participants — 55% female — with an average age of 61.7 from the UK Biobank, a database of half a million volunteers. Over an eight-year follow-up period, 2,385 cancers occurred in the group.
