Republicans in Congress are attempting to pass the SAVE Act, which would require potential voters show a photo ID to vote, and Democrats like Sens. Chuck Schumer and Jamie Raskin have come out swinging against the law, which they have ridiculously described as racist and sexist. Also opposing the law is Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff, who was caught, however, requiring those attending his political events to show a photo ID.
As background, many Republicans contend that the SAVE Act, or something like it, is necessary because of allegations of voter fraud, as requiring aspiring voters to show a photo ID makes it much harder for the fraud to occur. Democrats have fought tooth and nail against the measure despite the fact that it is broadly popular.
