In late March Virginia Planned Parenthood announced that plans to open a new facility on the Northside of Richmond have been shelved. This is the same property that the city sold to Planned Parenthood in 2024 for $10.
Virginia Planned Parenthood leader Paulette McElwain said the decision not to move forward with the clinic was mainly a result of Federal funding policy to defund the organization and high construction costs.
