Paxton slams Talarico stance on transitions: ‘Transition him and his crazy ideas right out of Texas’

Texas Attorney General and Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton blasted his political rival James Talarico in a fiery speech Wednesday night, where he suggested kicking the Democrat out of the state over his stance on gender transitions.The speech occurred during the first ever Republican midterm convention, which is taking place in Dallas. The two-day event will feature speeches from multiple GOP leaders and President Donald Trump is expected to speak both nights. 
Paxton claimed Talarico was a major fan of gender transitions and that his rival is seeking to hurt Texans by raising taxes.
“This guy is really obsessed with transitions,” Paxton said. “He wants to transition your kids. He wants to transition Texas off of oil and gas … How about we transition him and his crazy ideas right out of Texas.
“I will fight to preserve the American dream,” he continued. “James Talarico is running to destroy it. He is a democratic socialist who never met a tax increase he didn’t love. As a matter of fact, he voted to tax your income in Texas. We all love that. He wants to tax your tips. He wants to tax your overtime. And he even wants to tax your Social Security.”
Paxton also blasted Talarico’s previous religious comments in which he claimed that God is “non-binary” in a 2021 speech. 
“He calls himself a Christian who hates Christianity, said God is non-binary,” Paxton said. “I must have missed that verse in the Bible. And of course, he claimed there were six genders, which is absolutely crazy.”
The Democrat has defended the comment and claimed it was deliberately provacative and meant to emphasize that God transcends human gender. 
The two candidates are vying to represent Texas in the United States Senate this November. The general election is scheduled for Nov. 3 and the winner will replace Republican Sen. John Cornyn.
