At some point every Holocaust museum will be forced to include an exhibit on what’s happening in Gaza right now. It’s only a matter of time. Dr. Nick Maynard of Oxford University medical school has been a witness to the genocide.
Professor Nick Maynard is a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Oxford. He founded the Oxford Oesophagogastric Cancer Center and previously served as President of Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland. Since 2010, he has regularly led medical missions to Gaza to teach and perform surgery, including multiple missions during the current war. A leading humanitarian advocate for Gaza, he has spoken at the United Nations and with policymakers across the US and Europe. In 2025, he received the UK Humanitarian Medal from King Charles III for his work in Gaza.
