    Newly released suicide note matches Epstein’s handwriting, experts say

    Newly released handwritten notes tied to Jeffrey Epstein appear to have been written by the same person, according to forensic handwriting experts consulted by the Associated Press, adding a new layer to scrutiny surrounding Epstein’s death in federal custody in 2019.One of the notes was discovered after Epstein’s first suspected suicide attempt in July 2019 at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, according to his former cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione. 
    A second note was later recovered from Epstein’s jail cell after he was found dead weeks later. 
    “They investigated me for month — found nothing!!!” read one letter. “So 15 year old charges resulted. The FBI arrested me for a stack of cash and old headlines. It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye.”
    Three handwriting analysts told AP that the documents shared highly distinctive similarities in spacing, punctuation, formatting and letter formation, strongly indicating they were authored by the same person.
