New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez filed a lawsuit Wednesday against disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein’s attorney and accountant, alleging they concealed his sex trafficking operation at a Santa Fe-area ranch, known as Zorro Ranch, where Epstein would entertain guests. The lawsuit seeks to stop attorney Darren Indyke and accountant Richard Kahn from receiving any payments from Epstein’s estate, estimated at more than $100 million, the Associated Press reported.
Both Indyke and Kahn have testified before Congress that they didn’t know about Epstein’s abuse. Torrez argues that the abuse couldn’t have been carried out by Epstein alone, and it could only have been possible with help from his handlers, lawyers and accountants.
Unless the court intervenes, Torrez said, Indyke and Kahn “stand to benefit substantially” from Epstein’s estate. Torrez wants resources from the estate to go to help survivors of Epstein’s crimes.
