Voice acting icon Eric Bauza, known for his work as the voice behind modern “Bugs Bunny” and “Daffy Duck,” died at a home in Los Angeles over the weekend at the age of 46, his family said in a statement. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner determined Bauza’s cause of death was hypertensive cardiovascular disease, but the case is still pending. The cause of death is considered natural.
“Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly,” his family said in a post on Instagram on Sunday night. “More details to come.”
Bauza also voiced dozens of other Looney Tunes characters including Porky Pig, Road Runner and Elmer Fudd. He was most recently in the Looney Tunes film “Coyote vs. Acme,” and has won three Emmy Awards for his voice acting.
The star has more than 400 acting credits on his IMDb page, and was recently credited as one of the most influential people in modern animation by the Hollywood Reporter, according to ABC News.
