Sen. Mitch McConnell will not cast a vote in the Senate this week, his spokesman confirmed, as the 84-year-old Kentucky Republican continues recovering from a hospitalization whose cause his office still refuses to disclose.
McConnell’s spokesman David Popp issued a brief statement but declined to answer basic questions about the senator’s condition. Fox News Digital reported that it reached out to Popp on Tuesday for more information, but the spokesman provided no additional details about what put McConnell in the hospital or when he might return.
