Christian McCaffrey left the San Francisco 49ers’ Oct. 25, 2026, game against the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with a thigh injury and was listed questionable to return. On the opening drive he took a hard hit after a reception, stayed in and scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown, then had one touch on the second drive before sideline and medical-tent treatment. FOX Sports showed him reviewing film with Kyle Shanahan during treatment; a FOX Sports: NFL post said Shanahan wanted to make sure CMC still got some film work in. Darius Hayes reported that Christian McCaffrey just jogged to the locker room a few moments ago before halftime.
Contested: sources put the injury reception at 24 or 25 yards. FOX Sports credited 69 yards on the opening drive; the New York Post cited four handoffs and three catches for 74 yards and a TD on the first two drives. Backup Kaelon Black rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown; Jordan James was also active. The 49ers entered 6-0. McCaffrey had 350 rushing yards at 4.5 YPC, 190 receiving yards and seven total TDs this season. FOX Sports noted Mike Evans (Achilles), Nick Bosa (calf) and Deebo Samuel out, with 14 on injured reserve. No further team update was reported at the time.
