    Massachusetts Democrats push bill that would let illegal aliens sue ICE agents personally

    Massachusetts lawmakers are working to finalize legislation that would give illegal immigrants the right to sue federal immigration agents in their personal capacity for making arrests, a provision the state Senate inserted into a broader bill designed to wall off local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE.

    The measure, known as the PROTECT Act, has already passed both chambers of the Democrat-dominated legislature in different forms. The Massachusetts House approved a version without the personal-liability provision. The Senate added it back in. Now the two chambers are reconciling the competing texts, and the bill is widely expected to pass.
