Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., endorsed state Attorney General Alan Wilson in the South Carolina GOP gubernatorial runoff after she was eliminated in the Tuesday evening primary.”I want you to know that I am going to endorse Alan Wilson for governor,” she said. “I want a law and order governor and that law and order governor is going to be Alan Wilson.”
Wilson placed second behind Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette in the initial round, narrowly trailing the Trump-endorsed candidate. Mace finished a distant fifth, behind Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., and Rom Reddy.
In a Tuesday evening statement, Mace appeared to blame her loss on a willingness to challenge the establishment, pointing to her efforts to address sexual harassment in Congress and to release the Epstein files.
