A federal court in North Carolina on Friday requested that the lead prosecutor in the federal case accusing former FBI Director James Comey of threatening President Donald Trump’s life by posting a photo of seashells on social media is being replaced, according to a Friday court filing.The request was made by U.S. Attorney W. Ellis Boyle. He requests that Matthew Petracca, who was recently hired as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of North Carolina, be replaced.
Petracca is being replaced by Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy Severo, according to NBC News.
The case is expected to go to trial in October if it survives its expected legal challenges.
