The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Monday unveiled the latest alien criminals in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, which included pedophiles and persons convicted of violent crimes.Under the Trump administration, DHS has sought to implement the president’s mass deportation agenda to remove as many as 22 million illegal aliens from the U.S. Much of the effort has seen agencies prioritize aliens with criminal convictions or pending charges, as part of the “worst of the worst” initiative.
“Every day, the brave men and women of ICE are making our communities safer,” acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. “This weekend, ICE arrested murderers, registered sex offenders, sexual predators, violent assailants, and other criminal illegal aliens. We will not let rioters slow us down from removing the worst of the worst from American neighborhoods.”
Topping the list was Carlos Sanchez-Benitez of El Salvador, who was convicted for second-degree vehicular manslaughter.
Lauro Javier Miron-Tapia of Mexico was convicted for lewd acts with a minor child under 14 years old.
