Kuwait and Bahrain reportedly sent their own jets to directly attack Iranian targets earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing “people familiar with the matter.”The two nations have born much of the Iranian assault amid the renewal in fighting with the U.S. While the Gulf States have exchanged fire with Iran and shot down missiles launched at them, direct strikes like these have been relatively rare.
Nearly every Middle Eastern nation has seen some level of fighting since the outbreak of the Iran war, with Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Yemen all being dragged in to some degree.
The widening conflict shows few signs of a quick end and negotiations have largely collapsed after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the U.S. did not produce a formal agreement to end the war.
