A Collin County judge canceled the public divorce trial between Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and his estranged wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton, on Tuesday, a move that clears one potential distraction from Ken Paxton’s path to the November U.S. Senate election.
The trial “will no longer proceed,” The Hill reported, after state district judge Lindsey Wynne struck the proceedings from the calendar. Attorneys for Ken Paxton told the outlet that both sides had jointly agreed a trial setting was no longer necessary.
