Judge rejects Ghislaine Maxwell bid to overturn conviction

A federal judge on Tuesday rejected a bid from Ghislaine Maxwell to overturn her conviction.Judge Paul Engelmayer called Maxwell’s claims “meritless” and “frivolous,” further asserting that her claims that new evidence from the release of the Epstein files did not support her position, ABC 11 reported.
“On the contrary, to the extent it is relevant, far from exculpating her, it incriminates her or reinforces the correctness of the legal rulings Maxwell challenges,” he added.
Maxwell was the girlfriend and madame of the late Jeffrey Epstein. She first made the request in late December, citing the release of documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
She had already exhausted her appeals on the sex-trafficking conviction, but had sought to argue she did not receive a fair trial.
