U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes this week ordered a new hearing over President Donald Trump’s planned renovation of East Potomac Park as part of an ongoing battle over his attempts to “beautify” the nation’s capital. The hearing will be set for either Friday or Monday, The Hill reported, citing an order from Reyes. The judge previously issued an injunction from the D.C. Preservation League, though Trump has since indicated plans to move forward with his plans, regardless of the challenge.
The project is one of several major renovations in D.C. to attract legal scrutiny, along with the construction of the White House ballroom and the renovation of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
