Vice president JD Vance said on Monday that Iran has agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors back into the country. The announcement was made during talks in Switzerland, where Vance said the U.S. and Iran have had challenged but productive discussions, CNBC reported.
“Yes, there was a little bit of threatening, there was a little bit of whining, but at the end of the day, the talks continued, and we made great progress,” Vance said.
The agreement to allow nuclear inspectors is a first step toward permanently dismantling Iran’s nuclear weapons program, Vance said.
