Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) this week sought to keep a twice-deported illegal alien wanted for murder in custody after North Dakota authorities arrested him.Carlos Anuel Medina-Robles of Honduras first entered the U.S. illegally in 2018. He was deported in 2018 and again in 2022 after entering again in that year. ICE has not identified when he entered the U.S. for the third time.
He is currently in the custody of local authorities in North Dakota’s Ward County and awaits extradition to Durham, North Carolina for alleged murder involving a firearm. ICE lodged a detainer against Medina-Robles to ensure that he does not secure release from jail.
“This twice-deported criminal illegal alien from Honduras is wanted for a murder in North Carolina,” acting Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. “This is yet another tragic case of the consequences of  disastrous open-border policies.”
“The brave men and women of ICE are fighting every single day to get dangerous criminals like this off of our streets and out of our country,” she added.
The exact number of illegal aliens that ICE has arrested or deported remains the subject of dispute, but the agency has claimed roughly 700,000 direct deportations and roughly 2.2 million self deportations, accounting for nearly 3 million total exits since President Donald Trump returned to office.
