The House on Wednesday voted to hold billionaire Leon Black in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee, the Associated Press reported.The Department of Justice must now mull whether to pursue a criminal prosecution. The Oversight Panel had sought his testimony as part of its investigation into the late Jeffrey Epstein.
Under the Biden administration, the DOJ secured the convictions of Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon, both of whom refused to testify before the House Jan. 6 Committee.
The pair both spent time in prison over the matter.
