The House of Representatives passed a bipartisan housing bill Tuesday night, officially sending the legislation to President Donald Trump’s desk for his signature. The House passed the legislation in an overwhelming 358-32 split. The Senate passed the same legislation Monday night.
The bill, known as the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, aims to address affordability concerns heading into the midterms by increasing the housing supply. It also includes an effort to bar institutional investors from purchasing certain single-family homes, which is expected to help bring down the costs.
The legislation is now expected to go to the president on Wednesday, and he is expected to sign it on Capitol Hill.
