Feminism in Ibero-America is moving past its heyday of a decade ago, a time when being a feminist was marketed as part of popular rebel culture. There were feminist women, certainly, but also “feministos” — men inclined to subscribe to the ideology of agreeing with whatever feminists proposed.
Furthermore, gender-feminist ministries sprang up, feeding off Ibero-American states like Spain and Argentina. The fever swept from the Rio Grande to Patagonia.
