Hamas planned attacks on Berlin and Vienna on anniversary of Oct. 7: indictment

Hamas planned terrorist attacks on Berlin and Vienna on the second anniversary of the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in Israel, according to an indictment filed by Germany’s federal prosecutor. The attacks were to be coordinated to take place simultaneously or in close succession, targeting Israeli and Jewish interests in the two European capitals, Politico reported. 
An international weapons-procurement network moved pistols, an automatic rifle and hundreds of rounds of ammunition through Denmark, Germany and Austria to support the planned attack. The principal targets included Israeli diplomats, Jewish community centers and pro-Israel demonstrations.
Federal prosecutors said last year they had arrested men linked to Hamas who were suspected of planning attacks in Germany, and the indictment reveals these were to be coordinated and take place in Vienna as well. Seven men have been charged in connection with the plot and remain in pretrial detention, according to the indictment.
