Two recent pieces, Gregg Roman’s “How San Diego Let CAIR Define ‘Islamophobia’” at Middle East Forum and Daniel Greenfield’s “Every Muslim in Congress Demanded America Pay Reparations to Muslims for 9/11,” describe different arenas but the same method. One is municipal, the other federal. Both show an Islam-aligned advocacy group seeking recognition as the official interpreter of anti-Muslim bias, then using that status to shape policy, law enforcement, funding, and education. The label is not casual: federal prosecutors named the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism-financing case.
