Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the driving force behind President Trump’s economic sanctions and isolation strategy against the Iranian regime, appeared on Fox News over the weekend. His update was a whole lot different than the competing online propaganda barrages and American media misreporting offered of late.
X was full of pro-IRGC accounts repeating regime claims that three different non-Iranian tankers in the Strait of Hormuz have been destroyed. One, they claim, hit a mine and erupted in a fireball, and two others were set ablaze by drone strikes the regime claims they can do at will. Secretary Bessent, however, calmly stated actual reality.
