HENRICO, Va. (CN) —On a gloomy Wednesday, Rodney Travis Jr. pleaded guilty to animal abuse and computer fraud charges stemming from his yearslong practice of torturing cats for profit.
Prosecutors charged the 27-year-old with beating and maiming nearly 20 cats before uploading videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, depicting the distressed animals as pets with cancer to garner donations.
