Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., this week “dared” Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed to continue campaigning with streamer Hasan Piker, suggesting that his continued presence would not help him win the general election.Fetterman is one of the more vocally pro-Israel Democratic lawmakers and has repeatedly criticized the party’s pivot towards anti-Israel policies. El-Sayed featured Piker, a vocally anti-Israel streamer, during his campaign events.
“Keep campaigning with someone like Hasan Piker. You know, if I was a Republican, I would just dump $20 million for ads,” Fetterman said on Fox News this week. “And I just want to issue a dare, continue to campaign with Hasan Piker right now. You’re in a general election now, I dare you.”
Piker has faced a litany of controversies, including over his political rhetoric, but also over his recent trip to Cuba. He has stated that “America deserved 9/11” and made other, similar remarks.
