Powerful organizations on the left created and helped sustain a nonprofit called Faith in Public Life in order to replicate the organizing power of the Religious Right, but the group announced that it will be closing its doors on Oct. 31.
Jeanné Lewis, the group’s CEO, attributed the closure to fundraising issues, saying that the organization’s leadership “chose to proactively close the organization” once funding opportunities became “inconsistent.”
