Republican Study Committee members are commemorating the first anniversary of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination, reflecting on his influence on young Americans, the conservative movement, political debate, and faith one year after his death.
Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University. The 31-year-old husband and father of two was addressing an audience of roughly 3,000 people and discussing gun violence with a student when a single shot rang out. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) described the killing as a targeted political assassination.
