STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (CN) — New York City officials on Monday argued against a lawsuit brought by New York homeowners who say they were wrongfully notified that they may owe a surcharge on their high-value properties.
The Staten Island-based plaintiffs claim Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration improperly sent them letters saying they “may be subject” to the pied-à-terre tax.
