    DOJ Pauses Trump’s Anti-Weaponization Fund After Court Order

    The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Monday, June 1, that it is temporarily halting implementation of the Trump administration’s Anti-Weaponization Fund, a $1.776 billion program designed to compensate victims of government lawfare.

    The pause follows a federal court order from the Eastern District of Virginia that blocks the creation or operation of the fund while legal challenges proceed. DOJ officials said they strongly disagree with the court’s decision but will comply. The fund’s future remains uncertain amid bipartisan criticism and competing legislative priorities, including a $72 billion immigration enforcement package that Senate Republicans have linked to the controversy.
