    Two days of indirect US–Iran talks in Doha wrapped Wednesday with both governments claiming “positive progress” — the phrase doing a lot of work. Strip the diplomatic gloss and what actually moved is narrow: a communications channel to flag ceasefire violations, and partial access to roughly $6 billion of Iran’s frozen funds so Tehran can buy goods. The hard questions — Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, and long-term regional security — remain, in the mediators’ own wording, “firmly unresolved.”
