    Disney’s own lawsuit against the FCC reveals that ABC stopped booking candidates for public office on “The View” months ago, an admission the company frames as proof of government coercion but that raises harder questions about a network willing to bend its editorial standards the moment a regulator pays attention.

    The entertainment giant filed a First Amendment lawsuit against the Federal Communications Commission, alleging what it calls a “retaliatory campaign against ABC” driven by the Trump administration’s disapproval of the network’s broadcast content. At the center of the complaint: eight Disney-owned ABC stations whose broadcast licenses the FCC moved to review years ahead of schedule, and a daytime talk show that quietly stopped inviting political candidates after federal regulators started asking questions.
