DHS Announces Another Major Win Against Illegal Immigration

In a press release of absolutely titanic importance that came out on Wednesday, December 10, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released data showing that the Trump Administration has, in its first ~11 months of being in power, managed to get over two and a half million illegal aliens to leave the country.
While 2.5 million is just a drop in the bucket compared to the tens of millions of illegal aliens suspected by many of being in the country, it is still a good start, and a huge success compared ot the generally lackluster efforts of past administrations, and is expected to be ramped up much more in the years ahead given the tripling of ICE’s deportation agents.
Beginning the press release, DHS explained that the 2.5 million illegal aliens who have been made to leave the country is a historic accomplishment, saying, “The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced historic progress in securing the homeland, highlighting a year of record-breaking achievement of more than 2.5 million illegal aliens leaving the U.S.”
Adding to that, DHS then came some specific numbers on who has been deported and who has been self-deported. Beginning that portion of the release, it noted that over half a million, many of them criminals, have been detained and deported, saying, “Since January 20, 2025, DHS enforcement operations have resulted in more than 605,000 deportations. DHS has prioritized removing the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens as part of the Trump Administration’s efforts to return law and order to the United States.”
Further, it noted that nearly two million have been pushed into voluntarily deporting themselves, noting that financial incentives are being provided to encourage many more to do so. It said, “Additionally, thanks to the comprehensive efforts of DHS law enforcement, 1.9 million illegal aliens have voluntarily self-deported since January 2025. We encourage all illegal aliens to use the CBP Home app to get a free flight home for Christmas and $1,000.”
Further, the statement noted that more operations are coming, and this effort to detain and deport illegal aliens is coming alongside a strong defense of the border. It said, “President Trump and Secretary Noem unleashed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to carry out targeted operations to remove criminal illegal aliens. Additionally, President Trump delivered the most secure border in history.”
And, indicating why it sees this victory as one of such importance for the American people, DHS argued that American workers have better employment prospects and public services are being less strained, saying, “The rapid decline in the illegal immigrant population is already being felt nationwide, from reduced strain on public services to a resurgence in local job markets.”
