Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz will not appear for a planned interview with the House Oversight Committee as part of its probe into the Epstein files, Politico reported, citing “two committee aides.”Dershowitz had been set to appear before the panel as part of its investigation. He previously represented the late Epstein and spent years fending off allegations from the late Virginia Giuffre that he had been involved in misconduct. She later recanted her accusations before her death.
The Oversight probe has interviewed a litany of high-profile people about their relationships with Epstein, including both Bill and Hillary Clinton.
While the FBI attracted scrutiny over a leaked memo that indicated the agency had found no evidence of a blackmail scheme linked to Epstein. Members of the panel have openly broken with the intelligence agency.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., for instance, has said she believes Epstein was running a honeypot operation.
