Posting on Facebook, leftist North Carolina lawmaker Terence Everitt, who was once banished to an office in a basement supply closet during his feud with the then-Speaker of the House, announced that he has decided to resign from office. He will instead be focusing on running a leftist non-profit in the state.
For reference, the supply closet situation occurred in 2023, when Everitt pressed the Wake County district attorney to investigate the then-Speaker of the House, a Republican named Tim Moore. Everitt insisted an investigation was necessary because of the Speaker’s affair with a state employee. In the wake of pressing for such an investigation, Everitt found his legislative office moved to a supply room in the General Assembly’s basement.
