The death of a Pennsylvania State Trooper is renewing public scrutiny of noncitizen commercial truck drivers.
Michael Bon, a Haitian national who was residing in Massachusetts, is accused of striking a marked police vehicle during a roadside inspection, killing 44-year-old State Trooper Michael E. Pahira Jr. The driver has been charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving and six other charges.
