    The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling this week in Trump v. Barbara, which affirmed that the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment guarantees automatic citizenship to nearly every child born on U.S. soil regardless of their parents’ legal status, prompted a torrent of backlash, including from many political commentators.
