House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer requested information Thursday from the National Archives and Records Administration regarding the potential collusion between the Biden administration and anti-Second Amendment groups. The investigation is probing allegations that the administration colluded with the group Everytown for Gun Safety to bring litigation against firearm manufacturers. It is also looking into a 2023 meeting between the White House and Glock.
“On December 20, 2023, the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention met privately with representatives from Glock, during which the Biden Administration requested that Glock change their pistol designs,” Comer wrote in a letter to Acting Archivist Edward Forst. “Three months later, on March 19, 2024, the City of Chicago filed suit in state court against Glock with Everytown Law … listed as counsel for the plaintiff.”
Comer claimed that the day the lawsuit was filed, the president of Everytown posted about the previous meeting, despite not being there, where he claimed Glock “falsely insisted there is nothing they can do.”
“Mr. Feinblatt appears to have had insider information regarding the WHOGVP’s private meeting with Glock, which raises questions about whether the Biden Administration colluded with Everytown to initiate their lawsuit against Glock,” Comer said.
The lawmaker also appeared to indicate potential conflicts of interest because two Biden administration officials worked at Everytown, including someone in the WHOGVP, and a former Biden administration official with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives worked at the company after she left the ATF.
Comer asked NARA to provide documents related to its investigation into the possible collusion by May 14.
