After lawyers for San Joaquin County moved to disqualify a judge 325 times within four months in response to a reprimand for supposed prosecutorial misconduct, California’s top court decided it was time for change.
(CN) — The California Supreme Court on Thursday reversed track on allowing so-called blanket challenges that seek to exclude a particular judge from hearing all or most cases assigned to them on a bad faith basis.
