The woman who cast the last fourteen James Bond films says the next 007 should be exactly what Ian Fleming intended: a white man. Debbie McWilliams, speaking at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in an onstage interview moderated by Variety, offered a blunt answer when an audience member asked whether Bond could be played by a woman or a person of color.
“Not in my opinion. No,” McWilliams said.
