Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo challenged the administration’s own narrative on Iran’s military degradation after three American service members were killed in a matter of days, raising a question the White House has yet to answer directly.
Bartiromo, one of the most prominent pro-Trump voices in cable news, used her Sunday broadcast to press former national security adviser Victoria Coates on a gap between the president’s repeated assurances and the casualty reports coming out of the Middle East. An Iranian missile struck a military base in Jordan on Friday, killing two U.S. soldiers. A third died in Northern Iraq on Saturday. And yet the president has continued to insist that Iran’s military has been “obliterated.”
