Reports emerged on June 2, 2026 that the House Ethics Committee had opened an investigation into Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) concerning recent claims that have surfaced of sexual misconduct. A piece written by CNN reporters Pamela Brown, Annie Grayer, and Allison Gordon stated that the investigation was inspired by a story published by the New York Post in April.
That report claimed that Gomez was “spotted surreptitiously kissing a much younger congressional aide in the summer of 2023.” The far left lawmaker, hailing from the Golden State, has been married to his current wife since 2011. “In reaching out to look into that story, one of the sources told CNN, the panel learned of other allegations of sexual misconduct against Gomez that it is now investigating,” the CNN report went on to say.
