Alberta independence group releases ‘transition plan’ should voters approve succession from Canada

The Alberta Transition Council released a 214-page “transition plan,” which lays out a roadmap should Albertan voters approve a potential referendum on the Canadian province becoming a separate country. The report, which was released on Thursday, lays out a series of proposals tied to how life in Alberta might look like should such a referendum pass in the future, the CBC reported. 
The report looks at a range of regulations and institutions that would need to transition to Albertan control through negotiations. 
The proposals vary in scope, touching upon the continuity of social programs, air traffic control, relations with First Nations and a new constitution.
