Alaska Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola rescheduled several campaign events following a car crash that resulted in “minor” injuries. Peltola campaign manager Cheryl Bruce said in a statement that Peltola and her family “sustained minor injuries” in the crash, but medical professionals had advised the candidate to reschedule events in Fairbanks and Bethel until later in the week to give her time to recover, NBC News reported.
Bruce said that Peltola is “disappointed” over the delay starting her Alaska Always Tour, but she is eager to resume campaigning.
Peltola was driving to the Alaska Federation of Natives’ annual banquet Saturday when a vehicle transporting her and her family struck another driver.
